Class Descriptions

Yoga Arts offers classes for all bodies and levels. Our class offerings are aimed to promote health and wellbeing for the body and mind.

Yoga Fundamentals

This class is designed for beginners and seasoned students who want to learn the foundations of yoga. In this class students will learn the foundational actions of standing poses, forward bends, back bends, and restorative poses, and pranayama. Students will develop strength, stability, flexibility, and an overall sense of peace in the mind and body.

Yoga All Levels

A well balanced all levels class. You will experience a total body yoga class that creates a peaceful state and builds physical strength. This class is appropriate for all levels of practitioner.

Restorative Yoga

You will be rejuvenated by supported postures that soothe the nervous system and alleviate chronic tension and stress.

Intermediate Yoga

This intermediate class is for students who have practiced Iyengar Yoga consistently for six months. Students should feel established in all standing poses, beginner backbends, forward bends, and should be established in shoulder stand or know how to modify.

Iyengar Yoga All Levels

These classes build physical stability and mental alertness.
You will practice standing poses, forward bends, backbends, twists, inversions,and pranayama (breathwork). The instructor is a Certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher in the method developed by Sri B.K.S. Iyengar. This class is all levels and welcomes all students.

Gentle Yoga

A gentle yoga class focused on cultivating wellness in body, mind, and spirit. Gentle is appropriate for beginners, individuals with limited mobility, and students of all levels who desire a slower paced class.

Pranayama and Meditation

This class teaches the  practice of Pranayama, which is the movement of energy in the body using breath techniques.  Pranayama calms the nervous system, quiets the mind, and invigorates the body.

Chair Yoga All Levels

This class is created for all bodies to enjoy with ease. The support of a chair allows for a satisfying and safe way to connect to your breath and explore seated stretches, twists, bends, and to create a natural flow of movement. We also use the chair to deepen our understanding of balance and strength and to support us during breathing exercises and meditation. This class can help to relieve stress and tension, increase your strength and flexibility, and improve your mind/body awareness and mood.
